The department of Marathi was established in 1998. The special course-B.A in Marathi was introduced from the inception year of the college. Initially the Arts and commerce faculty have Marathi as a subject but then latter on the B.Sc. course was also started. And Marathi was also prescribed for S.Y.B. Sc. The total work load is 36 lectures in all. And they are Two full time posts are sanctioned for the department.
The department of Marathi organizes various co-curricular and extra-curricular activities every the year. The faculty members of the department attended and presented their papers in seminars and conferences and also published papers in national and international journals. The students participated in various activities throughout the year. Students are involved in various activities like Illocution, Debating, Poetry reading and Writing, Essay Writing, Mehandi, Rangoli,(Research Competition), seminars and Involve Book Exhibition, Granth Dindi etc.
Our Departmental Student Participate in cultural Programe and Verious Compition. The department of Marathi aims at cultivating an understanding of Marathi language and literature among the students and enable them in Soft Skills and life skills so as to tackle the global challenges and opportunities
