Department of Botany started in 2010 with only five students for first year BSc and only faculty Miss. Nishigandha Ghule. Now department has strength of about 106 students (75 in FY, 22 in SY and 9 for TYBSc) and two faculties. It indicates the progressive nature as far as enrollment is concerned. Since 2016 onwards students are participating in the Zonal level Avishkar competition, State, National and International level seminars. They are also presenting their research. Department organizes frequent field trails and tours to make teaching and learning effective. The unique activity “Plant for the Day” is being run by the department to create awareness about plants amongst the students. Faculties are regularly and actively participating in the Seminars and conferences to strengthen their abilities. Department in association with the other science departments organized the State level seminar and was actively participated in the execution of the same. Total seven papers were presented in this seminar from the department.
