The Department of Sociology was established in 1998. The first batch of the year 1998-1999, Sociology was at Gen. Level and then thereafter BA Sociology was started at special level. Since then every year the student strength is increasing. The YCMOU Study center was established in June 2005. The numbers of students admitted in this center are 130.YCMOU Study center runs the courses like Preparatory, BA and B.COM. Our honorable Principal Dr. P.V Rasal is working as the incharge of the centre.As a co-ordinater of YCMOU Prof Gosawi organized tree plantation programme and swatch Bharat Abhiyan during the last few years.Shri Malunjkar R working as center assistant and shri J. B. Jagtap working as a peon of the center.
The college provides infrastructures required to run the courses. The reading material provided by YCMOU is also helpful to the students preparing for competitive examination. It is available in our library. Every Sunday the counseling session by various faculty members are carried out. The students who are unable to pass X or XII Board examination can take admission to course run by YCMOU BA. Numbers of students are benefited by this study Center.
