English HOD’s Desk

The department of English was established in 1998. The special course-B.A in English was introduced from the inception year of the college. Initially the Arts and commerce faculty have English as a subject but then latter on the B.Sc. course was also started. And English was also prescribed for S.Y.B. Sc. The total work load is 52 lectures in all. And they are three full time posts are sanctioned for the department.
The department of English organizes various co-curricular and extra-curricular activities every the year. The faculty members of the department attend and present their papers in seminars and conferences and also publish papers in national and international journals. The students participate in various activities throughout the year. They take part in various activities like Illocution, Mehandi, Rangoli, Avishkar
(Research Competition), seminars and district level trekking camp etc.
The department of English aims at cultivating an understanding of English language and literature among the students and enable them in Soft Skills and life skills so as to tackle the global challenges and opportunities
